Automatic Document Feeding
The optional AR-SP2 (Single Pass Feeder) allows you to automatically make one set of
copies of up to 30-sheet originals. When combined with the optional AR-EB3 (Electronic
Sorting Kit), the SPF turns into an Automatic Documents Feeder for multiple sets of copy.Electronic Sorting Function
The Electronic Sorting Kit allows the AR-161 to "Scan Once Print Many" and in
combination with the SPF, makes "Electronic Sorting" possible. Just place
originals on the SPF tray and each document will be scanned and stored into memory in one
pass and returned immediately to you. You can then return to other work, enhancing office
productivity, while your copies are being produced. The Electronic Sorting Kit can store
60-sheets of A4* size originals, and 3 SIMM expansion slots are available to increase the
AR-161's storage capacity.
*Containing images and graphics equal in content to ITU-T (the International
Telecommunications Union) #3 or #4 chart.
Off-Set Stack by Shifter Function
When the Electronic Sorting Kit and SPF are used with the Shifter Function each copy
set is moved apart from each other for easy separation, eliminating the need for a bulky
sorter unit.
Automatic paper and magnification
Selection
When using the SPF the sizes of originals are automatically detected and copied onto the
suitable paper size thanks to the convenient APS. And with AMS the appropriate zoom ratio
is automatically selected so making same-sized copies from a different sized original
becomes extremely easy.
High Quality 600 dpi Engine
For exceptionally high quality copying, the AR-161 adopts a true 600 dpi resolution engine
to produce superb looking documents. This ensures the clarity of details around the edges
of copies and allows fine text to come out clear and legible.
Digital Automatic Exposure Control
Digital Auto Exposure Mode analyses the content of the original and automatically adjusts
the darkness or brightness levels to ensure copies are produced at their optimum contrast.
text and photos are distinguished automatically to maintain ideal contrast levels and
accurately reproduce fine-details of the original document. Exposure levels can also be
adjusted manually if desired.
Photo Mode
Use of the Photo Mode ensures quality reproduction of photographs and halftone originals.
You can also manually set dark and light exposure controls for reproducing special shading
contrasts.
